Home News & Events Manchester Airport Visit
HT3, HT5 and HT6 went to Manchester Airport to look at the different careers that are available within aviation. We were greeted by 2 ladies who were our guides around the visitor centre, we put on high viz vests to keep us safe. The tour guides showed us to the Concorde hanger where we looked at the length and shape of Concord. We discussed where the pilots would sit and how fast it flew through the air, we were all very impressed with the size and shape of the plane.
Next, we watched some of the planes taking of and landing on the run way, this was amazing as the planes went very fast and some were very loud, we even got to see the largest passenger plane in the world, the airbus 380.
The ladies showed us around 2 different types of planes, one that was designed to land in the dessert and different ground conditions and another where we pretended to be pilots, co-pilots, navigators, ground crew, cabin crew and firemen. Sitting in the cockpit was a fantastic experience and we were all surprised by how many buttons and leavers there were to be able to fly the plane.
A fantastic experience, loved by all!
