Home News & Events Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week 2026
During Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week, the young people took part in a variety of conversations and activities to support them with their mental wellbeing. This year’s theme is ‘This is my Place’ so a lot of the young people discussed the places they feel safest and the people they feel safest with.
Activities to explore the learners wellbeing included designing islands with their favourite activities on, making homemade facemasks and meditating, engaging in yoga and enjoying sensory massages. Alongside these relaxing activities to help benefit their mental health, the young people had discussions about how exercise benefits their mind, body and soul.
Many young people took part in walks down the drive, offsite obstacle course walks and a school wide football tournament. Upon reviewing these activities, the young people reflected through different creative and written tasks how they felt after taking part in a mental wellbeing activity versus when they do not focus on their mental wellbeing.
