The student council went to Kirkby Lonsdale church to a Remembrance service with the local community on the 11/11/24 to represent Underley Garden for Remembrance day. H, S, L, C, Ch, J and D all went to a small ceremony in the church garden where they took part in a minute of silence, a small service and laying the wreath. During the minute of silence, all of the young people stayed quiet and respectful of the people from the community around them. During the aervice, the young people followed the programme well, reading out prayers when prompted to and joining in with reciting the grace at the end of the service.
D participated in laying the wreath which he put down alongside others. After the service the young people all went around the wreaths and had a look at them all, they then interacted with members of the community saying where they were from. The young people in the student council were a credit to Underley during this session and used their manners and showed respect which enabled them to interact with their community well. We are very proud of our learners and they represented Underley well.
