Home News & Events Armitt Museum Visit
In October, Young People from Underley Garden were invited to take part in a project with the Armitt museum in Ambleside.
The Armitt Museum hold a range of collections of books, records, photographs, artworks and other materials which reflect the social history of Ambleside and the wider neighbourhood, particularly focussing on the development of the Lake District as a whole.
Pupils enjoyed exploring the museum and were able to look at the collection of classification books and illustrations of plants and animals. They then enjoyed the natural space around the University of Cumbria site and began creating their own individual nature books. The session was supported by Amy Boud who has worked with us before on an outdoor education project with in the grounds of Underley Garden School.
Amy will be returning to school to complete a follow up activity with the pupils in November.
