Underley Garden brought awareness to anti-bullying week through wearing odd socks. We all wore odd socks to highlight that we are all unique and different and that is okay. We spoke about everyone’s talents and how we are all special in our own way and these should be celebrated. Each class then completed lots of activities along the theme of being ‘united against bullying’. Some classes created anti-bullying posters, some made helping hands discussing who they would go to if they or their friends were being bullied and others designed odd socks. We also completed some practical tasks looking at different scenarios from other people’s perspectives, to understand the impact bullying has as well as sharing some personal experiences. Another powerful activity which a few classes completed was the crumbled paper task, which demonstrated the lasting impact bullying can have.
