Home News & Events National Apprenticeship Week
To celebrate National Apprenticeship Week, we have been looking at different work experiences, this includes doing Breakfast Club and selling cakes to raise money. We have had many discussions about what we can do in the future and what paths we might take, including apprenticeships.
Classes enjoyed online arcade games using the ‘Amazing Apprenticeships’ website whereby they identified different jobs which you can become an apprentice in and also watched videos explaining what an apprenticeship is and how to apply.
Students completed tutor time activities with a discussion around what apprenticeships are; most students were unsure on what apprenticeships are but were able to explain briefly what it consists of, after completing their activities. Classes watched videos explaining the job role and completed a quiz. Students were interested to find out that apprenticeships meant you could gain a qualification, while in a job and earning money. Some other interesting facts that surprised the students were the number of industries that offer apprenticeships. It really opened the eyes of the students, to the number of opportunities for their future.
