Home News & Events World Book Day
As always, World Book Day is a very popular day at Underley Garden. Staff and young people came to school dressed as their favourite characters and what an assortment of characters we had this year!
We had characters from books, stories and magazines; classes enjoyed sensory stories, library visits, reading to a friend (human and furry!) and listening to audio books.
We opened ‘Hug in a Mug’ Café and served World Book Day themed food and treats, made bookmarks and went on a story themed scavenger hunt.
All around school everybody kept spotting ‘Where’s Wally’? A very popular character this year!
We loved the OFG competition and lots of children enjoyed reading to animals – one class even went to Morecambe Prom to read to the birds!
Overall, everyone had a great time and enjoyed the day.
