Macmillan Coffee Morning and Raffle

The fantastic Post 16 staff and young people at Underley Garden made the decision to support Macmillan Cancer Support.

In order to do this; they made an action plan of what needed doing and got to work.

They contacted and visited lots of local shops and business and organised a raffle as well as asking each class to make (or buy) cakes to sell at the coffee morning. However, the prizes surpassed all our expectations and became so good that we decided we needed to hold two separate events in order to push the raffle as much as possible!

So the organisers went along with the coffee morning and held a child friendly raffle which was amazing. Everyone at UG attended this which created a fantastic atmosphere as well as making lots of money.

It was then time to focus on the main raffle. We really wanted to push this due to the amazing donations we had received.

We had (to name a few…);

£100 cycle voucher, meals out, a jacket from Barbour (choose male/female and size), huge Cornvale meat pack, hampers, lots of local vouchers and so much more!

The raffle was a HUGE success and had everyone talking!

The final amount raised was £1,555.00 !!!

We are so proud of the Post 16 young people who put a lot of effort in to raising a significant amount for a fantastic charity.

Special shout out to Laura Faraday who supported the young people with their mission and spent many of her hours ensuring it was going to run smoothly!
