Burns Night Celebrations

We celebrated Burns Night at Underley Garden, we have learnt about different elements of Scottish culture. Within some of our literacy lessons some classes have learnt about poems written by Robert Burns, including ‘To a Mouse’.

The young people have also been getting involved in lots of different activities and enjoying trying some Scottish food including shortbread, Haggis and Irn bru. As well as designing their own tartan pictures and taking part in some Scottish dancing, including the Highland fling. The young people learnt that Robert Burns wrote the song ‘Auld lang syne’ which is listened to by many of us on New Years Eve.
