Job Title: Wellbeing and Clinical Locality Lead/Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist (Children & Adults)
Location: Underley Gardens School, North West and part home based.
Salary: £55,000 to £60,000 (dependent on experience) plus £2k Welcome Bonus
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent, 52 weeks per annum
Essential: Full UK Driving Licence and access to own vehicle required
Who we are looking for
We’re looking for an experienced clinician with demonstrable leadership skills to join our expanding team as our Wellbeing and Clinical Locality Lead / Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist. Holding clinical responsibility, you will contribute to bespoke assessment and intervention plans for our children and adults with developmental trauma, autism, complex and SEMH needs. About the role
We are looking for an outstanding trauma and neurodevelopmental differences informed Clinician, with strong and proven leadership and management skills. The post holder will hold clinical responsibility, managing and developing a multi-disciplinary team comprising of; but not limited to, Psychology, Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational and Sensory Integration Therapy, Psychotherapy, and Therapy Assistants as the allocated services require. Collaborating to ensure we meet the needs of the young people and adults that we care for with our care and educational colleagues.
Working independently within the overall framework of the service policies and procedures you will support the integration of their specific service in the day-to-day running of each provision. A key aspect of the role will be quality assuring the delivery of informed clinical interventions at a universal, enhanced and specialist level to support our wider teams in meeting our people’s needs in line with set Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP).
This role is a new position in our services, and as a result some establishment of systems, procedures and processes will be required to develop a new clinical Hub around established services. This will require some understanding of change management and an ability to effectively communicate across multiple sites. The sites are a mixture of adult residential homes, a school and onsite children’s residential homes.
This role will include clinical practice and clinical supervision of the services current Speech and Language Therapists. The services this post will support provides a range of interventions to meet a wide range of needs across adults and paediatrics and an experienced therapist with a range of professional experiences is required to meet the need of the provisions. A contemporary understanding of working with a neurodivergent SALT caseload will be essential to this post.

Essential Criteria:
- Recognised Speech and Language degree.
- Registered with the HCPC and BPS or equivalent.
- Experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams.
- Experience of working with people with additional needs (e.g. complex trauma, neurodevelopmental differences, mental health needs)
- Demonstrable ability to lead and manage strategically.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a range of key partners.
- Able to work sensitively with people and resolve conflict effectively.
- Evidence of continuing professional development relevant to the setting
- Substantial and relevant post-qualification experience
- Experience of lecturing/teaching/training
- Full valid UK driving licence and access to a car is necessary.
- Skills in the management of data are also important as the role includes collecting and analysing data to inform various pieces of service delivery, development, and project work.
